Cora Garcia, DVM
Veterinarian
Dr. Garcia was born and raised in Texas. She attended Texas A&M University where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences and Entomology. Dr. Garcia then graduated from Texas A&M University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2025. During veterinary school, she trained at the Houston Zoo, Fort Worth Zoo, University of Georgia Southeastern Cooperative Wildlife Disease Laboratory, and the San Diego Zoo.
Dr. Garcia went on to pursue a small animal rotating internship at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. During her post-graduate training, she completed externships at the Omaha Zoo, Milwaukee Zoo, Wisconsin National Primate Research Center, the International Crane Foundation, and Shedd Aquarium. She earned her Category II USDA Accreditation in 2026.
Dr. Garcia has special interests in invertebrate medicine (especially honey bees), parasitology, as well as emergency medicine and critical care. She is very passionate about reptiles and amphibians, particularly their infectious diseases and husbandry.
At home, she lives with a rainbow boa (Bindi), corn snake (Cornbread), and cat (Ollie). In her free time, she enjoys herping, birding, beekeeping, and all things outdoors.
