Dr. Kayla Golan, DVM, CVA, CVSMT, CVMRT, CVNN
Dr. Golan is an experienced exotic animal veterinarian with a lifelong passion of caring for animals.
Her journey in animal care began at a young age, working alongside her mother, a licensed wildlife rehabilitator and veterinary technician. Assisting in the care of injured and orphaned wildlife gave her early, hands-on experience and fostered a deep love for animals—especially non-traditional species.
She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Arizona, obtaining a double B.S. in Wildlife Sciences and Veterinary Sciences, and earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 2011 from the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine.
Dr. Golan’s veterinary approach is rooted in her passion for healing – blending traditional medicine with holistic therapies to support the patient’s recovery and overall well-being. This integrative approach allows her to look at each patient as an individual, promote whole-animal wellness and deliver high-quality, personalized care to every patient she treats.
Dr. Golan has pursued advanced certifications in veterinary acupuncture, spinal manipulation (chiropractic care), canine nutrition, and canine massage and rehabilitation, which she utilizes with both canine and exotic patients.
In practice, Dr. Golan is known for her compassionate, thorough approach and prioritizing client education. She believes that empowering pet owners through knowledge strengthens the human-animal bond and leads to better outcomes for both pets and their people.
Dr. Golan currently shares her home with her two young children, a German Shepherd (Duke), Irish Wolfhound (Calista) a Chahua gecko named (Fireflame), Two bearded dragons (Thelma and Louise) and a Regal jumping spider (Hollywood). If spare time ever presents itself, Dr. Golan likes to cook, garden, see live music, listen to audiobooks and spend time with family. She looks forward to eventually adding a small flock of chickens into the mix!
